Loutro and nearby beaches

Loutro is a small fishing village located about 65 km West of Plakias, at the end of Cape Mouri. It is a natural harbor used mainly by the Sfakians. What makes Loutro stand out is the fact that it has not yet been tainted by mass tourism. There are no big hotels here with pools. There are no crowded streets, restaurants or secular beaches. There are no cars. Access is only by boat (you can also walk, but it is a difficult journey from Chora Sfakion or Anopolis to 1.5 hours). There are daily ferries to and from Chora Sfakia, Sougia, Gavdos, Paleochora and Agia Roumeli.

In Loutro you will enjoy the “do nothing”. You will rest, breathe, relax. Loutro is also the ideal excursion base for the beaches of Glika Nera, Marmara, Lykos and Finikas. You can get there by boat, taxi, canoe or on foot.
