Thousands of visitors enjoy the turquoise, crystal clear, cool waters of Plakias beach as well as its sandy shore every year. It is an organized beach, with numerous amenities (sun beds, umbrellas) and water sports, and has also diving activities (diving trips, diving lessons). Along the beach, the road is ideal for walking or cycling.
The beach of Plakias, awarded with the Blue Flag, is one of the most famous beaches in Crete.
Its eastern part is called Paligremnos, with its main feature being the huge rocks that rise high. These rocks are ideal for rock climbing, attracting many sports fans from all over Crete throughout the year
